Welcome

Welcome to the James Leese Art website. Sketch Art is the name I have given to the process I use to create the images on this website. The images are of, generally, imaginary places but with a basis in our imaginations from places we have been to, have seen, or otherwise know of. A few images contain pieces of real places or buildings or settings, but the overall image is one created from my mind and manifested in a work of art.

About the Prints

All limited edition art images are printed on high quality archival watercolor paper and canvas with archival inks, that is, they are giclees. All prints are coated against UV (ultraviolet) deterioration. Except for certain art pieces, most all art images of a specific size have a strict limited printing of 20 images. Some art pieces are limited to a single printing. Custom requests of more quantities than 20 may be made, but they will be created from a new and different master image.

See pricing for an idea of the various sizes available. Please call or email me if you have any questions.

What do they call a “quick-draw artist”?

One who sketches!

What is a Giclee?

Pronounced "jhee-clay," giclee is a sophisticated ink-jet printing process. It merges the use of professional grade large format printers with archival pigmented inks, acid free watercolor papers and canvas. All watercolor papers and canvases used are archival and acid free. Colors are tested for accuracy against the original images. Final printed images are signed by me, dated and numbered.
